Baytown's young people are its promise for the future and in the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCISD), administrators and teachers work together to provide the best and most well-rounded individual educational and extracurricular activities for all children of all talents. In addition to tradition classes at the district's 14 elementary, 5 junior high, and 2 senior high schools, Baytown students with special needs can take advantage of specialized courses. One of Baytown's greatest assets is the presence of Lee College, formed more than 60 years ago through the foresight of local leaders who realized the economic, educational, and cultural opportunities a community college would provide
